I woke up this morning to some sad news… Lauren Hill has passed away. I am truly heartbroken but blessed to have been inspired by journey. I’m amazed at the impact she made during her 19 years. Lauren’s legacy will live on through the coaches, teachers, teammates, fans, communities and the world that she left her imprint on. Lauren – rest in peace my sister. While you have departed this earthly world your spirit lives in us forever!!
This past weekend we celebrated the Final 4’s in Indianapolis and Tampa. Here’s a BIG CONGRATS to the Duke Blue Devils and the UCONN Huskies. What an amazing run, and of course after a long season it’s awesome to stand on top as the CHAMPS!!
Final Four Friday
My weekend was crazy busy since I traveled between the two cities, but it started off here in Indy last Friday with an appearance at the Community 101 Celebration along with Pat McAfee and Austin Mahoney. From there I hit up Radio Row and got a chance to spend some time with my family at Fan Fest. Fun times!!!
Saturday Final 4 Clinic
Saturday kicked off super early with the NCAA Coca-Cola clinic at Pike High School. We hosted nearly 450 kids along with a Parent Educational clinic. I LOVE seeing kids everywhere, but especially the smiles on their faces. It's such a blessing to be able to impact & encourage youth to set goals and dream big!!
NCAA Tampa All Girls Clinic
Later that evening I flew to Tampa to join in the fun down at the Women’s Final 4. We kicked off with an outdoor Coca-Cola/ NCAA Girls clinic that morning before joining in the other festivities going on around the way. Then game time - South Carolina v. Notre Dame and UCONN v Maryland.
2015 AllState WBCA Good Works Team
The highlight of my weekend was hanging out with the ladies from the Allstate WBCA Good Works team at the Moffitt Cancer Center. The things these ladies have done off the court has truly been amazing and continues to inspire people in their communities, hometowns and even abroad. Simply amazing!! We had a great time hanging at the Moffitt Cancer Center putting together backpacks, hanging with families, doing art activites and visiting patients in their rooms. Sometimes we all take for granted the simple things in our lives, but to take a moment to spend with the kids and their families was awesome.
Last, but NOT least, BIG shout out to my sis, mentor and one of my role models growing up : ) LISA LESLIE will be in the 2015 Class as a HALL OF FAMER!! How awesome is that? I'm so proud of you Lisa. The things that you have done both on and off the court have been amazing!! Here's a big HUG and Congrats coming your way!! : ) Love ya lots!! And thanks for always inspiring me to be better!
