What a whirlwind of a week- in a great way! : ) Christmas decorating has officially started, leading to so many reminders of what Christmas is truly ALL about! This week has been a great one with announcements, speaking engagements, feeding the less fortunate and an awesome Christmas party!!
We announced our third years of the AllState WBCA Good Works Team. It is an honor to be the spokesperson for this team because I love highlighting the great things these young ladies are doing OFF the court, as well as on the court. My years at UTK under Pat Summitt, she always preached about being GREAT WOMEN above all. The success we had on the court and in the classroom was one thing, but at the end of the day our impact on others, carrying ourselves with grace and being one of great character was most important. These young ladies just “get it,” and at such a young age! What a blessing to be able to BLESS others! Other news included the advancement of the WNBPA and looking at the future as we select a new WNBPA Director of Operations to lead our union in the future. http://www.swishappeal.com/2014/12/5/7340509/wnbpa-search-to-replace-pamela-wheeler-director-of-operations
My little nephew and I made a stop at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School during their school assembly. I piggy backed off a speech I did a few weeks ago at the Indianapolis Public Library and talked about “Raising the Bar: I am a CUP- Connected, Unique and Powerful!” I feel like it is so important to share my story on how I grew up along with inspiring them to an amazing future. Every time I speak I think about my kids and the people that will be there as role models for them.
Our 2014 Catch the Stars Foundation Board Retreat is over and done, and our planning for the future is stronger than ever. We continue to celebrate our 10th year Anniversary, and figure out ways that the future will be just as successful! Everyone is up for a treat next year!! Let’s go CTSF!!!
Dianne, Parnell and Ayanna joined me to "Feed the Hungry" at New Life Worship Center.
Teamed up with New Life Worship Center to Feed The Hungry alongside TV 40- WHMB, the NCAA, University of Indianapolis and THA. It's always amazing to see the smiles on the faces of people- young and old. And, of course the kids that are around whether they're volunteering or coming through with their parents, they are all happy to be there. Such a blessing for sure! We hosted our Catch the Stars Holiday party to focus on our volunteers, sponsors and their families. All of the support we get from them throughout the year does not go unnoticed. Thanks for all of you that support CTSF and our mission to make a difference in the community. It is truly because of each of you that we have been so successful!! So amazing!
Happy Holidays from Santa and I! God Bless!
Well, that’s a short snapshot of this past week! On to the next… Always due or more excitement : )
