I always get excited about this time of the year because I love being able to share great food with family and friends. When I sit back and think of all that God has blessed me with, I’m so thankful that He continues to provide for me every day, week, month and year… shoot, every minute!!
I’m so grateful for so many things- my family, my friends, food, a roof over my head, clothes, loving parents, shoes to walk around in, fans, my ability to hear (even if it isn’t 100%), sight, touch… and the list goes on and on. I know that there are so many things I take for granted, and every year as Thanksgiving Day comes, it is a reminder to appreciate the little things.
Think about the little things that don’t cost a dollar that we ALL appreciate… a simple smile, a nice SINCERE comment on how well you look today, someone rushing in front of us to hold the door open, a coupon passed to the next person in line because they may just be able to use it right away. Thanksgiving is an appreciation of the blessings God has sowed into our life, but it can also be a way we show our appreciation to others.
We have 31 days left until we turn the page to 2015. I pledge to do something every day to share the many blessings that God has sowed into my life. Will you take the challenge with me? Remember it doesn’t have to be something BIG! It can be anything that we’re thankful for that people do for us. Make a list of the things you do, and then sit back and see how it changes the culture around you.
“In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” - Matthew 7:12
